Overview
Your National Occupational Classification (NOC) code determines whether your experience counts for Express Entry, many PNP streams and several work permits. Choosing the wrong code is a common reason for refusal. Job titles alone are not enough; what matters is whether your actual duties match the NOC description.
Key requirements at a glance
- Your duties must match the NOC lead statement and most of its main duties
- The code's TEER category decides program eligibility (for example TEER 0 to 3 for Express Entry)
