Overview

Changing schools as an international student is no longer just a matter of updating your online account. In many cases you now need a new study permit before you can start at the new school, and the change can affect your eligibility for a post-graduation work permit.

• If you change schools at the post-secondary level, you generally need to apply to extend your study permit before studying at the new DLI
• The new school must also be a designated learning institution
• Changes of program or level at the same school follow different rules
