Overview
The Canadian Experience Class is an Express Entry program for temporary residents who have gained skilled work experience in Canada, often after studying here or while on a work permit. It rewards Canadian experience and does not require proof of settlement funds.
Key requirements at a glance
- At least 1 year (1,560 hours) of paid skilled work experience in Canada within the 3 years before you apply
- Experience must be in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 and gained while authorized to work in Canada
- Work done while studying full-time, co-op terms and self-employment generally don't count
- Language: CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs; CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs
- No education requirement, although education can add CRS points
