Overview
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for qualified tradespeople who want to become permanent residents. It is managed through Express Entry and covers skilled trades such as construction, electrical, industrial, mechanical and transportation occupations.
Key requirements at a glance
- At least 2 years (3,120 hours) of full-time paid work experience in an eligible skilled trade within the last 5 years
- A valid job offer of full-time employment for at least 1 year, or a Canadian certificate of qualification in your trade
- Language: CLB 5 for speaking and listening, CLB 4 for reading and writing
- Proof of settlement funds, unless you're authorized to work in Canada with a valid job offer
